The course at Les Mielles had humble beginnings in 1976 when its first 9 holes were founded by the late Jack A'Court. In 1986 the course was extended to 12 holes by the founder's grandson, Jonathan A'Court Le Brun, who took over the running of Les Mielles Golf and Country Club at that time.

It was Jack A'Court's vision that an 18 hole course could be built amongst the water and sand dunes. To complete this project it was necessary to acquire adjoining lands to create a challenging 18 hole American Style course complete with numerous water hazards, fairways of dwarf rye and bent grass greens - the first of its type in the Channel Islands. The new course was eventually opened on the 1st May 1995.

Les Mielles Ladies Golf Club was formed in 1989, (2 years before the men's Club) and it has been growing steadily ever since. The men and ladies had a joint committee from 1991, but in 1997 the Ladies and Gentlemen decided to go back to two separate clubs. Although we are independent from the Men's Club, we enjoy an excellent working relationship with them and consequently the golf at Les Mielles is competitive and enjoyable with many a social gathering. Today's Ladies club membership stands at approximately 80 with 22 players in the LGU Silver Division.

Our course provides us with an excellent training ground to produce golfers with all-round abilities - well used to coping with awkward lies in and out of the many hazards. Water hazards certainly hold no fear for Les Mielles ladies. We enjoy a great deal of success in both local and national competitions.

The current Lady Captain is Sue Evens and her Vice Captain is Annette Laffoley..
