The last match of the year was against Royal Guernsey at home on 15th October.   The format for this match is

tough with 36 holes in one day, foursomes matchplay in the morning and singles matchplay in the afternoon after a quick lunch.  We did brilliantly in the morning foursomes, winning 4 ½ to ½ and the afternoon singles finished all square, so the final result was 9 ½ to 5 ½ to us.  We won 6 out of our 10 annual team matches which was a good result for us.  Congratulations to all the team members.  During the year we had 27 different ladies playing in the teams and the team awards were awarded to Isobel Brocken (silver division) and Gudrun Bjarnadottir (bronze division).  A big thank you to Patricia Parkin who did a fantastic job in organizing the teams.  I am delighted to say that Rachel Andrews has agreed to take over as Team Manager for next year. Forthcoming Competitions: December 22nd     Secret Pairs (9 holes with snack afterwards and Secret Santa)January 5th             Strings CompetitionJanuary 12th           5 Club ChallengeJanuary 19th           Stableford Competition (QC)January 26th           Yellow Ball Competition                 EWGA medalsNext year the EWGA Medals will run the same as this year but we have added four more giving a total of 16, 8 on a Tuesday and 8 on Saturday.  The first one is at the end of February and last in November.  There has been a slight change, EWGA has decided that the use of sky caddies will be allowed in EWGA Medal and the PING 4BBB as well.  However they will not be allowed in any finals in the UK. JLGA newsEquipment Rental Finance Seniors LeagueThis is a popular competition among the senior ladies and has now been going on for six years.   Everyone who takes part seems to really enjoy the chance to play all the courses in the island in a friendly, and non-qualifying, competition.  The last competition was held at La Moye and our ladies did really well, beating all the teams but did not have enough points to win overall and ended up in third place with La Moye winning.   My thanks go to Irene Journeaux, our Senior Team Manager, for all her hard work, enthusiasm and organization.     Well done to all our senior players.    Winter Stableford CompetitionThis nine hole competition is open to ANY LADY MEMBER and finishes on 31st March 2009.  This is played over all courses in the Island, you can play as often as you like but you only enter your three best cards from three different course.  We have had two organized outings, to St Clements and Royal Jersey and our next organized trip is to Les Ormes on Friday 15th January to play 9 holes and then lunch afterwards.  A signup sheet will be on the notice board.  Lady Captains CharityThank you all for contributing to my Lady Captains Charity this year.  We raised over £1500,  and a massive thanks to Patricia Parkin who raised over £2000 pound doing a parachute jump in September.  She donated half of that amount to my Charity. This year I have decided to carry on with the same charity but changing the bunkers to the ones on the 3rd hole in front of the green so if your ball lands in the sand please pay 50p (or more if you are feeling generous).   Wishing you all Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Happy golfing in 2010!!    Gudrun BjarnadottirLady Captain
